Westland Nursing & Rehab Center's Subacute Care Program provides residents with cost effective transitional care between hospital and home.
A team of licensed nurses, with experience in both post-acute and long-term care, will come to you, at the hospital or home, to answer questions to streamline the transition to Westland Nursing & Rehab Center.

Judith G. Caroselli, RN, NHA, Chief Operating Officer (COO). A former critical care nurse and has been the COO since 1977. Judy won the "President's Award" an unprecedented two times from the Health Care Association of Michigan, and the "Distinguished Administrators Award" from the American College of Health Care Administrators. She makes sure that a diverse, professional staff equipped with all the necessary resources are ready each day to excel in the provision of care and services that meet the demanding needs of today's clients whether it is complex care or short term rehabilitation.

Patricia Sullivan RN, C, Director of Nursing won the Nightingale Award for Nursing Administration from Oakland University. Since hired in 1980 she has moved up the ranks from staff nurse, supervisor and Assistant Director of Nursing. Patricia is one of few in this position who is Certified as a Geriatric Nurse.
She is responsible for the largest department within the organization, assuring that each member of the nursing staff is competent, talented and compassionate in the delivery of care. |

Judy Wilson, RHIT, Director of Quality Improvement, began her career at WCRC on July 14, 1977 in the Nursing Department as a Nursing Assistant. In 1980, she transferred to the Medical Records Department and realized this was the career path she would like to pursue. As a recipient of the WCRC Scholarship Program, Judy was able to achieve this goal and graduated in 1985 with a degree in Health Information Management.
In her current position as Director of Quality Improvement, she is responsible for the integration and coordination of services, monitoring and analyzing the delivery of care and services. She is also a resource for information for the entire staff regarding federal and state regulations and standards of care. Judy is an active participant on the Emergency Preparedness Committee in collaboration with the Wayne County Emergency Medical Services. |

| Dr. Keith Tobin DO, Medical Director. He and his partners make up what is known as the American Geriatric Consultants serving WCRC clients and the community. This medical services group made up of Nurse Practitioners, Certified Specialists and physicians personally direct all aspects of care. As a member of the WCRC team, Dr. Tobin serves on the Quality Improvement Committee and meets weekly with the Chief Operating Officer about all things related to the operations of a large health care community. Dr. Tobin has been with WCRC since 1989 and is an experienced, skilled clinician whose expertise is unmatched anywhere. |

Dr. Jeff S. Pierce, DO, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physician. He completed his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at the University of Illinois, Chicago and obtained sub-specialty training in Musculoskeletal, Sports Medicine and E.M.G./Electromyography, Manual Medicine and spinal Injections.
His focus for each patient is comprehensive evaluation, proper diagnosis and individualized treatment regimens. Dr. Pierce believes strongly in patient education as it relates to their diagnosis, surgery or injuries to encourage the patient to share responsibility in the rehabilitation process teaching prevention techniques to prohibit future injury and empowering patients to control their situation.
He created an aggressive, non-surgical and comprehensive spine care program which has over an 80% success rate for return to work/normal function whereas the national average is approximately 50%.
In addition to his practice, Dr. Pierce is the founder of Athletes Unlimited, a non-profit organization for the support and development of athletes with physical challenges. He works hard to educate the community on disabilities, breaking down barriers between able- and disabled bodies with a firm belief that no active individual should be restricted by any boundary. He is the Medical Director of the Michigan Sports & Spine Centers; served 3 terms on the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Sports being an active member on the task force to create the prescription for fitness for the State of Michigan. Dr. Pierce has been the Team Physician for the University of Michigan-Dearborn Athletics, Belle Tire Hockey Teams, Little Caesar's AAA Travel Hockey, the Detroit Fury and Detroit Dogs. He authors a column in Hockey Weekly, “Ask the Doctor,” which has educated and advised the hockey community for nearly 3 years. He is known throughout the entertainment community as “Doc Rock” treating entertainers who perform at local venues.
The expertise, involvement and fresh approach Dr. Pierce brings to WCRC has ignited and inspired our rehab team of professionals who work closely with and get frequent advice and leadership from one of Michigan’s best specialists in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
